Choir and Music

Saint James has a two-manual and pedal, mechanical action 27-rank organ built by the Holtkamp Organ Company of Cleveland, Ohio. Music is used at the 10:00 a.m. Holy Communion service each Sunday. The 1982 hymnal has been used at Saint James Episcopal Church since it became available in 1985. Recently, the The Celebration Hymnal has been added to our worship service.

The choir at Saint James sings at the 10:00 a.m. service from September until the end or May or Pentecost, whichever is the later date. Additional singers for the choir, instrumentalists and soloists are retained for special services, such as Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday.  Saint James has an extensive music library with some 400 to 500 settings, particularly octavos and books of anthems. A large number of new octavos, usually 30 to 35, are purchased each year and added to the collection.

Choir Practice is Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.
